Political prisoner Ihar Losik has declared an indefinite hunger strike after he faced today new charges of “plotting riots” (Art 13, Part 2 of Art. 293 of the Criminal Code) in addition to an earlier charge of “breaching public order” (Part 1 of Art. 342).
Just like Siarhei Tsikhanouski before, Losik was charged so that the investigators could keep him in pre-trial detention for at least two more months, as the initial period is expected to expire on December 25.
The same charge was brought today against another political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich.
