Watching the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony together: locations and time
On December 10, International Human Rights Day, the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony will be held in Oslo. This year, three nominees jointly received the prestigious award: the Сhairman of Viasna Ales Bialiatski, the Russian human rights organization Memorial, and the Ukrainian human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties.
Unfortunately, Ales Bialiatski will not be present to receive the award, as he has been in jail since July 14, 2021. The human rights activist and his colleagues are accused of “smuggling” and “financing of group activities, grossly violating the public order” during mass protests in 2020. Bialiatski is the third person to win the Nobel Peace Prize while behind bars.
We invite you to join us on December 10 in various cities to watch together the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. Let’s show our support for Ales Bialiatski and thank him for many years of defending rights and helping people.
