Appeal against the sentences of Rabkova and Chapiuk to be heard on February 28
The appeal in the case of Viasna activists Marfa Rabkova and Andrei Chapiuk and eight other political prisoners will be considered on February 28. This became known from the letter of the political prisoner Akikhiro Hayeuski-Hanada.
While political prisoners are awaiting an appeal in the pre-trial detention center, they can be supported with money transfers and parcels. After their transfer to the colony, only relatives will be able to do this.
Judge Siarhei Khrypach handed down the sentences on September 6. The ten political prisoners were given the following terms:
Aliaksandr Frantskevich—17 years of imprisonment
Akikhiro Hayeuski-Hanada—16 years of imprisonment
Marfa Rabkova—15 years of imprisonment
Aliaksei Halauko—12 years of imprisonment
Pavel Shpetny, Mikita Dranets, Aliaksandr Kazlianka, and Andrei Chapiuk—6 years of imprisonment each
Andrei Marach and Danila Chul—5 years of imprisonment
