Nasta Loika zapped with stun gun for failing to give out her Telegram password
The incident was reported to Viasna by Russian journalist and human rights defender Yekaterina Yanshina, who spent 15 days in Minsk jail. Apparently, Loika failed to remember her Telegram messenger cloud password and was hit with a stun gun by a security officer.
“...As I was told later, the woman, who simply forgot her password, was tortured with electric shocks. They were firing a stun gun at her heel to avoid leaving marks. It was the human rights activist Anastasiya Loika. I was told this story after I refused to give my passwords. And then I wondered how many zaps I would take before I would break up and give them the passwords,” Yanshina said.
Nasta Loika has spoken about torture at one of her trials. She said that one of the officers had used a stun gun on her, and another one had taken her out into the courtyard where she had stayed without clothes for eight hours.
