Ihar Losik went on a long hunger strike in a punishment cell in Navapolack penal colony and then cut his hands and neck, several sources confirmed. The political prisoner was saved and sent to the medical unit.
Ihar Losik was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment in a medium-security penal colony in the high-profile Tsikhanouski case. His wife, Darya Losik, had been fighting for his release, including speaking internationally, before she herself got arrested and was sentenced to two years of jail. The couple’s daughter Paulina is now with the grandparents.
