In Minsk, those sentenced to home confinement are summoned to the Criminal Executive Inspectorate where they have to take side-view and front-view photos.
These photos will be used to identify on the surveillance cameras in shopping malls those convicts who are there on holidays and weekends. Since formally they are not allowed to leave home on these days, such a "violation" could lead to increased punishment.
It is very likely that Synesis' KIPOD platform will be used for this. Back in 2021 BYPOL, organization that was created by former employees of law enforcement agencies to counter the Belarusian authorities, said that security forces were using it to identify people who had been attending protests.
