A political prisoner, who was detained upon her return from Poland, was sentenced to 10 years in a penal colony
On December 19, Aliaksandra Kasko, a 30-year-old political prisoner was sentenced to ten years in prison by the Hrodna Regional Court. She was detained upon her return from Poland in early February of this year. She has now been convicted under eight articles of the Criminal Code, for "participating in extremist formation" and "facilitating extremist activities" among other things. Even before the trial, Aliaksandra was added to the "list of terrorists" and the "list of extremists." The verdict was handed down by Dzmitryi Bubenchyk. Her trial began on November 27.

Aliaksandra Kasko was detained on February 9, 2023 upon her return from Poland. The next day in the Court of the Vaŭkavysk District Mikalai Talashka arrested her for 10 days under Part 2 of Article 19.11 of the Administrative Code (distribution of extremist materials). After the days of detention she was not released: criminal cases were opened against her.
Now she is accused under eight articles of the Criminal Code: Part 3 of Article 130 (incitement of other social hatred); Part 3 of Article 203-1 (illegal actions with respect to personal data); Parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-1 (creation of an extremist formation or participation in it); Parts 1 and 2 of Article 361-4 (promotion of extremist activities); Part 2 of Article 367 (defamation of Lukashenka); Parts 1 and 2 of Article 368 (insulting Lukashenka); Article 369 (insulting a representative of the government); Article 391 (insulting a judge).
According to the prosecution's version, Kasko "while on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, as well as abroad, provided assistance to extremist groups: she disseminated information regarding the planning, organization, preparation, and commission of attacks on the foundations of the constitutional order and public security of the Republic of Belarus. She, being the administrator of several destructive Telegram channels recognized in accordance with the established procedure as extremist formations, and effectively managing them, deliberately created and posted publications on these resources. At the same time, the information contained in them was aimed at inciting social hatred and discord on the basis of other social affiliation, publicly insulting government officials, judges, and illegally distributing information about the private life and personal data of victims without their consent."
In addition, the political prisoner was accused of posting insulting and defamatory publications against Aliaksandr Lukashenka in these online communities.
Even before the trial, on September 12, 2023, the KGB added Aliaksandra to the "list of terrorists". She was also added to the "list of extremists".
