Catholic believer sentenced to three years in a penal colony in Minsk
On March 14, the Minsk City Court sentenced a Catholic believer and a religious instructor in a Minsk cathedral church Uladzislau Beladzed to three years in a penal coloby, writes Christian Vision. He was charged under four articles of the Criminal Code. The believer was tried behind closed doors by Alena Ananich.
Uladzislau was detained on May 31, 2023. He was arrested several times in a row for 15 days. After 30 days spent in Akrescina, Uladzislau looked like a man who had been subjected to torture and inhuman treatment. But he retains his moral strength.
Uladzislau was charged under four articles of the Criminal Code:
-
Part 1 of Article 130 (inciting other social hatred);
-
Part 1 of Article 343 (production and distribution of pornographic materials or objects of a pornographic nature);
-
Part 1 of Article 368 (insulting Lukashenka);
-
Article 369 (insulting a representative of the government).
It is known that Uladzislau has serious health problems. As reported by Christian Vision, he was "forced to record a "penitential video" in which he looked depressed and under obvious compulsion declared his homosexual orientation, which puts him at additional risk. In the propaganda video, they spoke about him in a humiliating tone, forced him to denigrate himself, and also showed photos and videos aimed at discrediting him in the eyes of believers."
