Opinion of Advocate Siarhiei Tsurko Concerning Verdict to Viktar Ivashkievich

Advocate Siearhiei Tsurko expressed his opinion that most probably the verdict on the case of Viktar Ivashkievich will remain unchanged. The thing is that the Supreme Court of the Republic of Bielarus adopted explanation of the law on amnesty, where usage of Article No. 9 of the law is considered (according to this law the terms of personal restraint to Paviel Mazheika and Mikola Markievich were shortened). In this explanation that court stated that Article No. 9 can be used only towards verdict, made before adoption of the law on amnesty, not after it.
