According to BelaPAN information, at the sitting of Regular OSCE Board in Vena on October 24 Head of the US mission Douglas Davidson said that the status of Belarus will be discussed at the sitting of the OSCE Board of Ministers in Port (Portugal) on December 6-7. He also stated that Belarus had demonstrated obvious disregard to the decision of the Regular Board on creation and activity of the Consultative-Observation Group, reluctance to participate in talks for seeking of a new decision. He reminded that COG OSCE mandate in Belarus provides monitoring of the country events. However, COG OSCE hasn’t submitted any reports to the Regular Board since June 2002. That’s why the US called the latter to oblige COG OSCE in Belarus to submit regular reports and appoint a representative who would be responsible for that. “As far as Belarus can’t discuss Vena resolution we insist on directing a high-level delegation there”, -- said Douglas Davidson. He also applied to all countries-participants of OSCE with the request to consider OSCE procedures and mechanisms in order to discriminate in the situation. He pointed out that though the US left itself the right to decide this question bilaterally or by other means outside Vena, usage of OSCE procedures and mechanisms was preferable as it would show that OSCE had the means, necessary for finding a solution of the problem.
