The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against Platform 2025
The Investigative Committee claims to have identified "22 more persons who joined the activities of Tsikhanouskaya and her supporters to seize state power in Belarus in an unconstitutional way." They were recognized as suspects under Part 1 of Article 357 of the Criminal Code (conspiracy or other actions committed with the aim of seizing state power).
In addition, the Investigative Committee notes, 23 people who participated in meetings organized in different countries by Belarusians abroad were additionally identified. They became suspects in a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 361-1 of the Criminal Code (participation in an extremist formation).
As Nasha Niva noted, Platform 2025 is a document signed at the New Belarus conference in August. It outlined the main goals for the future electoral campaign. Among them are the non-recognition by the world community of the "presidential elections", work on the release of political prisoners, as well as intensifying efforts to engage civil servants who support the democratic future of the country.
