Ministry of Justice Plans to Adopt New Re-registration Order for Religious Organizations

According to information on the Committee on religion at the Board of Ministers of Belarus, the document contains the basic positions that will guide norms of the new law “About religious freedom and religious organizations”, signed by president on October 30, 2002. Head of the department of religious cases Aliaxandr Kalinau said that re-registration will concern only those organizations whose statutes were registered before adoption of the new version of the law. He emphasized that adoption of this ruling wouldn’t decrease status of any religious organization, acting on the territory of Belarus. The main aim of the document is to make all religious organizations conform their statutes with norms of the adopted law about religious organizations.
