Coordinators of Charter'97 Apply to Minsk OSCE Office
The coordinators of Charter'97 Andrey Sannikaw, Liudmila Hraznova and Zmitser Bandarenka applied to Minsk OSCE office with official letter to Eberhardt Heiken.
In this letter the political activists who were sentenced to 15 days of arrest for organization of "People's March" and released from jail a week ago, asked OSCE representatives to visit the detention center of the Main Board of Internal Affairs at Minsk City Executive Committee. All people, sentenced to arrest for violations of the Code of Administrative Violations, including organizers and participants of mass actions, are kept in this "institution". "To our mind, the conditions of this detention center are much worse than those in prisons and penal colonies of Belarus. The people who are punished for violations of administrative articles, appear to have less rights that the ones, sentenced to jail for felonies", -- write the politicians, whom the international community declared prisoners of conscience after the arrest.
