COURT SUSPENDED HEARING ON RATUSHA LIQUIDATION Case Will Resume After Trial over Its Chair Ales Milinkevich
On 22 May 2003 Hrodna regional court opened hearing on the suit of the regional Department of Justice to close down Ratusha non-governmental organization. The hearing lasted for about 1 hour. The judge suspended the case under Art 160 clause 4 of the Code of Administrative Procedures – “the duty of court to suspend proceedings in case it is impossible to consider the case before disposition of another case of civic, criminal or administrative proceedings”.
The matter is, Ales Milinkevich, chair of Ratusha, has filed a complaint against the decision of Leninski borough administration of Hrodna, dated 24 April 2002. Then he was found guilty of violating the rules of usage of duplicating equipment (Art 172 par 2 of the Code of Administrative Offences) – he printed books without a license.
Thus, when the court considers his complaint, the hearing on liquidation of Ratusha will be resumed.
