LAWSUIT FOR INSULTING PRESIDENT
Criminal action was instituted in Belarus for insulting Alexander Lukashenka against the resident of Niasvizh (Minsk region) Alexander Kruty, “Rosbalt” correspondent was told by the local assistant to the prosecutor of Niasvizh Uladzimir Yahadzinski.
In his turn, unemployed Alexander Kruty, also being a local human rights defender, told the journalists that they are groundlessly persecuting him, having wrongly interpreted the text of the flyers. Police read the words “he got” (he – meaning Lukashenka) as “he-goat” and started disseminating rumors around the town that I called Lukashenka a goat. But that’s what police thinks, I have nothing to do with that, but their own illiteracy,” – said Kruty.
According to him, they blame Kruty over the violation of article 368 of the Belarusian Criminal Code, envisaging responsibility for a public offense of the head of state.
