BDG ISSUES GET PRINTING MACHINE BROKEN, PUBLISHING HOUSE DIRECTOR FIRED
When Chyrvonaya Zorka state-owned publishing house printed two issues of The BDG under The Salidarnasts and The Echo headings, it turned out the printing machine got broken. Most probably, the next joint Predprinimatelskaya Gazeta and BDG issue will not come out. The publishing house cancelled the contract. The BDG is going to be printed in Russia.
“No we are looking for another publishing house, but all negotiations we had with Minsk region publishing houses suggest an idea, that they all have been warned. They all make up flimsy excuses. Or, all of a sudden, a publishing house director, who is to take the decision, disappears. All negotiations led us nowhere. As a last resort, we will print the newspaper abroad, in Smolensk, for instance”, says Sviatlana Kalinkina, The BDG editor-in-chief.
Later it turned out that Mr. Tselesh, director of Chyrvonaya Zorka state-owned publishing house, had been fired. Information Ministry representative Lilia Bohdan confirmed he had been dismissed, but refused to explain the official reasons.
