UNAUTHORIZED PICKET IN DEFENSE OF THE BELARUSIAN LYCEUM TOOK PLACE ON 19 JUNE

Teachers, parents and students of the lyceum held a picket on Kastrychnitskaya Square in defense of the Belarusian Lyceum. They demanded to leave Uladzimir Kolas on the post of the Lyceum director and keep its status as the National Belarusian Lyceum.
In the morning teachers, students and their parents gathered in the lyceum building. On the exit from the building the picket participants were blocked by the riot police. They had to find ways to Kastrychnitskaya Square through the backyards.
After the picket the students and their parents gathered in the lyceum for a meeting. They discussed the further plan of activities. The police officers waited near the assembly hall.
So far, no one was detained.
