ZUBR activist Tatsiana Elavaya, 18, was arrested this morning when passing her finals at high school. The law-enforcers presented to the girl the ruling of the Central borough court of Minsk, dated May 19, which sentenced her to 10 days of arrest. The reason for such a harsh sentence was her part in the action “Down with tyrants!”, in which she expressed solidarity with the anti-Hussein’s coalition’s activities on liberating Iraq. The action was held near the US embassy in Minsk on April 3. Tatsiana was arrested on leaving the classroom, where she successfully passed her last final exam. At present Tatsiana Elavaya is in the police station. Later they might send her to serve the sentence in the detention center.
