Vitsebsk Members of Christian Democratic Party Get Fined $900

Judge Vartynskaya of Vitsebsk Chyhunachny Borough Court fined the members of Vitsebsk branch of Christian Democratic Party BPF Uladzimir Pleshchanka and Aliaksandr Salawian 150 basic units (about 2 million rubles, 1 basic unit is about $6) for gathering signatures in support of their party comrade Siarhey Papkow who applied to court concerning the illegality of the treaty about establishment of the Union State, signed on 8 December 1999 by Aliaksandr Lukashenka and Boris Yeltsin.

For the last week several dozens of Vitsebsk citizens signed against this treaty.
