Tatsiana Yelavaya: Sentenced to Same 10 Days in Jail
On 8 July the repeated consideration of the administrative case against the activist of the unregistered youth movement ZUBR Tatsiana Yelavaya. Judge Natallia Vaytsiakhovich again sentenced her to 10 days of jail, in absentia.
It’s worth mentioning that the first time T. Yelavaya was sentenced to 10 days of jail for participation in the action of 19 May, “Down with Tyrants!” that took place opposite the US Embassy. On 18 June T. Yelavaya was arrested during her final school exams. After two days in the prison cell the prisoner got high temperature and inflammation of the nose bridge. She was taken to a hospital for surgery operation. At that time the court ruling was set aside due to Prosecutor’s protest and directed for repeated consideration at the same court.
