ON 18, 21, AND 24 JULY VITSEBSK CHAIN OF CONCERNED PEOPLE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE TRIED
The picket, which took place on 16 July near Vitsebsk Arts Museum, aimed to draw public attention to the problem of disappearance of public figures and journalists. The picket participants held the national white-red-white flag, banned by Lukashenka, and portraits of the missing: Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasowski, and Dzmitry Zavadski. Passers-by were handed leaflets. The police detained 6 members of the United Civic Party: Fiodar Bakunow, Ruslan Holubew, Uladzimir Semianchukow, Tatsiana Zaikova, Yury Zaikow, and Eanita Zhalnerovich. Ruslan Holubew was tried on 17 July. The judge sentenced him to 3 days in jail. On 18, 21, and 24 July Kastrychnitski borough court of Vitsebsk will try other detained participants of the Chain of Concerned People.
