On 25 August in Minsk the police detained Barys Haretski, an activist of the unregistered youth organization “Young Front”.
Barys Haretski intended to take part in the picket, devoted to the 12th anniversary of the enforcement of the Declaration of Sovereignty of Belarus, and express his protest against the incorporation of Belarus by Russia.
However, the picket wasn’t held. The police came there earlier than the picketers and prevented it. What concerns the detained “Young Front” activist, the police lieutenant colonel Piatro Verabiow said that he was detained on suspension in a money theft.
