At night between 27 and 28 August unknown persons attempted to set fire to the synagogue “Beys-Israel” in the Dawman Street in Minsk.
According to Yury Dorn, Head of Jewish religious association in Belarus, at 0.30 a.m. the guard noticed that the carpet at the synagogue entrance has been burnt and glass debris with fuel on them. In a quarter of an hour there came the fire-engine and the police. The criminal case has already been initiated.
Yu. Dorn states that for the recent years the number the anti-Semitic manifestations in Belarus has increased.
