On 2 November Vitsebsk police detained Uladzimir Pleshchanka, Aliaksandr Salawian, Ales Pazniak, Yan Dziazhawtsava, Aleh Yemialyanaw, Ihar Matsveyew and Tamara Mamchyts when they were carrying a self-made cross to set it on Uspenskaya hill in the memory of the victims of Stalin’s repressions fusilladed there.
Before that the members of the Christian Democratic Party BPF put two crosses in the places of mass fusillades. However, in two hours people in plain clothes broke the crosses, tore off the memorial shields and trampled flowers and candles near them.
