On 4 April 2003 Minsk Tsentralny Borough Court punished Aksana Novikava for insult of President with two years of conditional imprisonment for spreading of fly-sheets with the statement that Aliaksandr Lukashenka and heads of the law machinery were engaged in kidnaps of people. The court didn’t summon a single witness proposed by the defense and punished Aksana Novikava.
Despite of the punishment, Aksana Novikava continued her public activity. He conducted two pickets alone and was administratively punished for them. He could be taken to a women’s colony for that. However, the officials took into consideration the fact that she was a single mother and amnestied her.
