On March 1, 2004 Pershamaiski borough court of Minsk started the hearing on the case of Anatol Shumchanka, head of the Perspektyva NGO.
The judge postponed the hearing to March 2, 12 a.m. because the accusation witnesses did not appear in court. Today the judge heard the witnesses of Anatol Shumchanka. Alexander Haliyew is Shumchanka’s lawyer. Shumchanka is charged under Art 167.1-1 part 2 (violation of order of carrying out mass actions) for organization of the unauthorized meeting, which allegedly took place on February 24 on Uruchcha-3 market.
