At about 10 p.m. on 18 March the police stopped an attempt of trespassing Hrodna office of the "Den" newspaper. Policemen from Hrodna Leninski Borough Board of Internal Affairs detained two persons, who said they were Viktar Viktaravich Makaraw and Aliaksadr Piatrovich Vashkevich. Editor-in-chief of the "Den" newspaper Mikola Markevich recognized one of them as worker of Hrodna KGB. According to witnesses, the detainees had an arsenal of skeleton keys with them. Head of Leninski BBIA Khaliawski composed the detention report. Both detainees said they were unemployed. According to "Pahonia" information, this incident wasn't registered in the police charts.

"Everything developed quite suspiciously after the detention. The detainees showed the police some documents and could be simply led go if I didn't state I wouldn't leave the BBIA before the detention was registered. Only my presence made the policemen keep to all formalities", -- said Mikola Markevich, who found out about the attempt of trespass from his acquaintances. To his mind, it is an attempt to intimidate the journalists.

"It is an attempt to intimidate us, create obstacles to the acting editorial board", -- stated Markevich.

Eight number of the newspaper have been published so far. "Den" differs from other Hrodna newspapers by his regular reports about corruption among the local officials and loyal businessmen.
