Barys Khamaida, an opposition activist from Vitebsk spent the total of about 8 hours in the police station. On 10 and 11 June the police detained him for the time while Alexander Lukashenka was participating in the seminar for executive officials. According to Mr. Khamaida, to the question “Why have you kept me in the police station for so long?”, the police officers replied: “Because you are not happy about Lukashenka’s arrival”. There were no reasons given for his detentions – the policemen did not even draw any reports of detention, reports RFE/RL.
