Administration and Police Control Collection of Signatures in Student Dormitories of Homel

In the evening of 2 September the pretender to candidates to Belarusian Parliament Yury Hlushakow and the member of his initiative group Andrey Aksionaw who intended to collect signatures in student dormitory No. 1 of Homel State University had to give explanations to the police.

The duty officer of the dormitory Tatsiana Karatkova and the dormitory commandant demanded to agree about the collection of signatures with the administration of the university. They informed the head of Homel Tsentralny borough administration Yury Lashkevich. Soon the university provost Siarhey Khanenya and a police group arrived at there. Yuras Hlushakow is a deputy of Homel City Deputy Soviet, that’s why the police decided not to detain him. However, he had to stop collecting signatures there.
