BNR Rada Will Aks Parliaments of Democratic Countries Not to Recognize Results of Parliamentary Election in Belarus

Head of BNR Rada Ivonka Survilla thusly commented on Aliaksandr Lukashenka’s decision to declare referendum in her interview to Belarusian service of Radio Liberty:

-- I didn’t expect anything else from Lukashenka. It is one more deceit of the Constitution which he swore to defend. It will be new usurpation of authority. No matter what the referendum results are – they will be falsified in favor of the usurper.

I have awful pity for Belarusian people, who will become more isolated from normal European life and wealth of its western neighbors. It may again become a colony of the foreign empire, without the permission of which the referendum wouldn’t have been declared.

Of course, BNR Rada will apply to all civilized governments in order to turn attention to this assault on the Constitution of Belarusian state. We will consider referendum and its results illegitimate and will ask democratic parliaments to find the referendum results illegitimate as well.
