“Alliance-media” Demands Compensation of Court Expenses from “Narodnaya Volia” Newspaper

“Alliance-media” enterprise, founder of the “Obozrevatel” newspaper, applied to Minsk Leninski Borough Court asking to exact about 1 million rubles of additional court expenses for from the newspaper “Narodnaya Volia”.

The thing is that in February 2004 the court partially satisfied the suit of the head of the “Alliance-media” Siarhey Atroshanka to “Narodnaya Volia” concerning the article “Bandit Treatment of Leanid Levin by Sergey Atroshchenko’s “Obozrevatel”. The newspaper’s cassation suit gave no result. According to the “Alliance-media”, it spent 836 thousand rubles on court expenses and now intends to exact them from the newspaper.

On 28 September Minsk Maskowski Borough Court will consider the suit of the general Valery Fralow, member of “Respublika” deputy group. Fralow demands from the newspaper 100 million rubles as compensation for the publication “Are deputies Kasyan, Navasiad and Fralow personal anti-Semites?”
