Distribution of Fly-sheets of Radio Liberty Is a Crime

Kanstantsin Horny was detained for distribution of fly-sheets and calendars with the logo of Radio Liberty / Radio Free Europe.

On 12 January the members of Belarusian People’s Front Kanstantsin Horny and Uladzislaw Tokaraw were summoned to Minsk Kastrychnitski borough administrative commission. They spent about an hour in the corridor, waiting till they will be invited to the office of the commission head.

In the talk to K. Horny the head of the commission Mikhail Dziadzinkin said that he wouldn’t consider the case at that time, but would postpone it and summon a police brigade, as, to his mind, the case was of criminal nature. As a result, the case consideration was postponed to 26 January. What concerns Uladzislaw Tokaraw, the police made some mistakes in the documents that were submitted to the commission. This case is to be considered by Minsk Pershamayski borough administrative commission.

Horny and Tokaraw described the violations committed by the police during their detention and in their complaints, which they filed to Minsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
