Mikalai Charnavus was accused of staging an unauthorized rally during the businessmen’s strike in Baranavichy on 1 March, and also for activity on behalf of an unregistered organization. On 25 March Mr. Charnavus was fined 240 thousand rubles (around110 dollars).
Also, on 25 March Brest court was to try Valiantsin Lazarenkau, Chair of the Regional Branch of the Belarusian Free Trade Union, for having allegedly organized an unauthorized rally of businessmen. But the police officers who drew up a corresponding report have unexpectedly withdrawn the materials for additional revision, reports Radio Liberty.
