On 29 March the special rapporteur for human rights in Belarus of the UN Committee for Human Rights Adrian Severin presented his report on the human rights situation in Belarus. The report contains several items that criticize the Belarusian authorities for their part in observing human rights in Belarus, and also recommendations for the Belarusian government and the international community.
The UN Belarusian delegation representative Aleinikau responded to the report in the Cold War spirit, refusing to recognize obvious violations of the human rights in Belarus and referring to the Belarusian NGO representatives as “representatives of militant non-governmental organizations” that actively disseminate lies about Belarus.
