A conflict between the Union of Poles and the Belarusian authorities is getting worse (Radio Liberty)

The participants of the recent actions against the Union of Poles may face visa restrictions. The Embassy of Poland to Belarus confirmed visa sanctions to be imposed on the persons behind the recent actions against the Union of Poles in Belarus.
The Supreme Council of the Union of Poles filed statements with the general procurator's office, the Ministry of Justice and the Presidential Administration, where they voice a protest against the actions that, the document says, degrade the feelings of the Poles in Belarus. The conflict was provoked by the decision of the Ministry of Justice and the film "Who ordered the Union of Poles?" shown on the Belarusian television.
The leadership of the Union of Poles do not agree with the decision passed by the Ministry of Justice that claimed that the March congress of this public association was invalid. According to the Ministry of Justice, most delegates were elected in violation of the Articles of the public association, the order of the congress conduct was violated, and its agenda was not agreed, and there was no quorum during the vote on most decisions. The representatives of the Union of Poles say that the congress was legitimate and the leadershio of the association was elected democratically.
