They are accused of organizing mass street actions on 18 and 19 October to protest the falsified results of the elections and of the referendum.
Mikola Statkievich had already made a statement during the investigation that he did not recognize the court and so would not answer questions. During the proceedings in court, Mikola Statkievich refused to testify.
Paval Sieviaryniets thinks that this case is "the continuing campaign of political "purging" before the 2006 elections".
