Siarhei Skrabiets met with his parents in the detention center
The mother and father of the ex-deputy Siarhei Skrabiets visited him on 13 July in Brest investigation center, where he has been kept since the 15 May arrest. In the detention center Siarhei Skrabiets held a hunger-strike which lasted about 40 days.
Even after meeting her son, Nina Ryhorauna, Siarhei Skrabiets's mother, cannot say if he has resumed the hunger-strike: "Siarhei saw that I was very worried about the whole thing and said: "Don't worry I have already started eating". But still I cannot say if he has withdrawn from the hunger-strike or not. Judging from his look, you wouldn't say he has stopped his hunger-strike. He is very thin, skinny. You could see dark bags under the eyes".
Though Skrabiets lost more than 20 kilos he looks cheerful. "He said he takes physical exercise, does push-ups. He says don't cry, mama, I will go to the end. They arrested me for no reason".
According to the lawyer Mikhail Khomich, Siarhei Skrabiets may be transferred from Brest to Minsk next week. Now they are deciding on the transportation method: "The investigator said that everything will depend on medical examination findings: if the doctors say he can be taken in a railcar, we will take him in a railcar. If they say, a special vehicle is necessary, we will use a special vehicle".
