Pressbol Editor Property Attached

On 19 July property that belongs to the editor of the sports newspaper Pressbol Uladzimier Bierazhkou was attached.
According to the decision taken by Tsentralny Borough Court of Minsk, Berazhkou will have to pay almost 5 thousand US dollars in favor of Mikalai Korbut, Minister of Finance (the editorial office of the newspaper has already paid him about 15 thousand dollars).
Thus, the court recognized as false the headline to the newspaper article published in October last year: "The man that is the assistant minister of finance is wanted by the Interpol for being part of an organized criminal group".
The newspaper meant Andrei Imanali – Korbut's deputy, however not in the ministry of finance, but in the Belarusian Federation of Gymnastics also headed by Mikalai Korbut. Recently Imanali was really detained in Ukraine: in the mid-1990s he was the head of a criminal group in Roston-na-Donu, which was specialized in car thefts.
However, these facts did not impress the Belarusian court and the decision that granted damages to the minister of finance was upheld.
