According to the law, if a person imprisoned has not violated any of the internal rules, the special settlement office may allow them to visit their family for up to three days once a month. However, the law in this country does not apply to all.
According to Radio Liberty, the special settlement office administration allowed Mikola Statkievich to read two letters. The first one came from the residential office, where Mikola Statkievich is registered. It says that there were no claims to him or any delayed utilities payments. The other letter that came from the city department of the Pershamaiski District Police said that "because of the complicated situation in the city, the visit by Mikola Statkievich to Minsk is not appropriate".
