Vitsiebski Kuryer newspaper published the appeal of the pensioner Halina Liumarava in which she urges people to contribute money to Barys Khamaida, one of the oldest opposition activists of Vitsiebsk. He is unemployed and has several millions of non-paid fines, including the ones for distribution of non-state press in the city.
According to Mrs. Liumarava, his everyday going out of house #28 in Lenin Street (under supervision of the police patrol) for handing out newspapers is an example of courage and real patriotism. That’s why she considers it necessary to materially support the man who consciously chose such way of life without counting on any profits.
The action has already been supported by a number of Khamaida’s compatriots.
