Mikalai Autukhovich, the arrested businessman, was examined by a council of doctors, which found that his state after 46 days of the hunger-strike was very serious.
The doctors noted that if does not agree to the use of a dropper and does not stop the hunger-strike, he will have to be taken to hospital, says Radio Liberty.
According to the lawyer Halina Ivanova, if the hospitalization decision is taken, the hunger-strike will most probably be taken to Minsk to the Republican prison hospital. She believes that considering he is in such bad condition they will be afraid to continue keeping him in the detention section of the prison. The doctors who examined Autukhovich will send their conclusions not only to the prison administration but also to the investigator of the financial investigation department responsible for him now, and also to the procurator's office that has to supervise the investigators.
Mikalai Autukhovich was arrested on 14 October in Hrodna. He is accused of avoiding taxes, which resulted in particularly large losses inflicted to the state budget. The taxes they calculated he did not pay is 679 million rubles. The criminal charges leveled against the businessman refer to the second part of Article 243 that provides for three to seven years in prison. The court may also confiscate the property.
