Forced Subscription to State Newspapers Is Going on

By 20 December the heads and the vice-heads of enterprises on ideological work of Dziarzhynsk district of Minsk region must submit to Dziarzhynsk District Executive Committee concerning the results of the departmental and individual subscription to a number of state editions. This is stated in the official note, dated 15 November and signed by A. Kadet, chair of Dziarzhynsk District Executive Committee.

“Due to the beginning of the subscription campaign for the first half of 2006 and taking into consideration the political importance of this action” A. Kadet asks the addressees to “personally control the situation of the departmental subscription to Sovetskaya Belorussiya, Respublika, Zviazda, Minskaia Prauda, Stsiah Kastrychnika, etc. The files with these newspapers must lie in the places accessible to all workers at every workplace,” – he emphasizes.

The chair of Dziarzhynsk DEC also turned attention to individual subscription and ordered to “organize the work of public distributors in cooperation with the vice-chair on ideological work and the trade union organization” and also asked enterprises to “give material support for subscription to main state editions” to low-income persons and veterans.
