Youth Activists Detained in Homel

At about 10 p.m. on 2 January in Savetskaia Street in Homel the police detained the youth activists Ihar Sidarenka and Siarhei Kastsiuchenka and took them to a police station. The policemen introduced themselves neither during the detention, nor at the police station. They composed the detention and violation reports and let the guys go. The following day unknown persons phoned the activists, “inviting” them for a “talk” to Homel Tsentralny Borough Board of Internal Affairs. They refused to introduce themselves and threatened to take the I. Sidarenka and I. Kastsiuchenka there forcibly, in handcuffs in the case of refusal.
