Ivantsevichy prison witnesses mass hunger-strike
Ivantsevichy prison probably witnesses mass hunger-strike. This information was given to Uladzimir Levaneuski, the son of one of the prisoners Valery Levaneuski on January 30 by one of released prisoners.
According to the former prisoner, the hunger-strike was initiated by 30 prisoners who had been put into an isolation ward. These prisoners protest against violation of their rights, which started by a new prison governor. Valery Levaneuski also takes part in the hunger-strike.
The prison administration does neither confirm nor denies the fact of the mass hunger-strike. The assistant governor of the prison Mikhail Karmanovich refused to talk about the hunger-strike. However, of the prison officers who refused to give his name informed Radio Liberty that there was no hunger-strike and all the prisoners have their meal. This officer also refused to give the name of the new governor of the Ivatsevichy prison.
