Minsk Tsentralny Borough Procurator’s Office Doesn’t Return Printed Production Confiscated from Party of Communists of Belarus
On 2 February the Central committee of the Party of Communists of Belarus (PCB) received the answer of the procurator’s office in which it was stated that PCB failed to provide the documental evidence that the printed production belonged to the party.
We should remind that on 25 January the police workers confiscated 2 500 copies of the brochure Monitoring at presidential election in Belarus in 2006. The party intended to use these brochures for training of its election observers.
In his interview to BelaPAN information agency the member of the party bureau Siarhei Vazniak said the issue of the brochures was financed by certain citizens and were presented to the party as a gift. He pointed that the procurator’s office didn’t even ask them for documental evidence that the printed production belonged to the party.
-- We will demand to return the illegally confiscated literature and to punish the policemen who, according to our opinion, manifested self-will. We are ready to present to the procurator’s office documental evidence that the confiscated brochure was the property of the party, -- said Mr. Vazniak.
