Supreme Court Satisfies Cassation Complaint, Filed by Mikalai Autukhovich

On 7 February the Supreme Economic Court of Belarus satisfied the cassation complaint of the businessman Mikalai Autukhovich, who is kept under home arrest in Vaukavysk.

Earlier Vaukavysk tax inspection decided that he allegedly appropriated the land near his office and house, that’s why he was sentenced to pay 14 million rubles of tax, which is ten times more than usual. This decision was abolished and the case was returned for reconsideration.

However, on 9 February Hrodna Kastrychitski Borough Court will be consider the criminal case that was brought against the businessman for alleged evasion from taxes that resulted in the exceptionally large loss to the state. Mr. Autukhovich can’t speak on the phone and meet with journalists, because he is kept under home arrest.
