Masty: District Court Fines Public Activist Iauhen Skarabutan

On 13 February Masty District Court fined the youth activist from Hrodna Iauhen Skarabutan for alleged violation of article 167-3, considering as pre-term agitation the fact that calendars with Aliaksandr Milinkevich’s photos lied in the activists bag.

We should remind that on 12 January Iauhen Skarabutan was going from Hrodna to Masty by train. Two policemen waited to him at the railway station in Masty. They detained him, saying that cellular phone was stolen from one of the passengers and he was suspected. They took him to Masty District Board of Internal Affairs. There they searched him and found calendars with photos of Milinkevich. The court paid no attention to the fact Mr. Skarabutan didn’t hand the calendars to anyone and fined him for pre-term agitation.
