Minsk: Plain Clothes Use Force against Journalists

On 9 March at Minsk Maskouski Borough Court persons in plain clothes used force against journalists. They started hindering the journalists’ work yet at the court entrance, covering the objectives of cameras with their bodies. In the corridor of the court a man in plain clothes gave a hard kick in the back to the photo correspondent of Nasha Niva Iulia Darashkevich.
When Vintsuk Viachorka, (Milinkevich’s proxy, who was detained on 8 March during a meeting with the electorate) was led into the court hall, a main in plain clothes rudely pushed away journalists with Dictaphones.
Among the present journalists there were representatives of the Associated Press, RenTV, Nasha Niva, RFE/RL, etc.
