Hrodna Activists of Union of Poles Andrei Pachobut and Iuzaf Pazhetski Are Imprisoned
On 13 March workers of KGB detained in Minsk the chief editor Magazyn Polski ‘in exile’ Andrei Pahobut. Then he was taken to Hrodna. There the police drew a report for violation of article 156 of the Code of Administrative Violations (petty hooliganism). In the report they wrote that he swore near the building of the investigative department of Hrodna Regional Board of Internal Affairs in Azheshka St., where he was taken for a talk with investigator.
On 15 March the judge of Hrodna Leninski Borough Court Natallia Kozel sentenced him to 10 days of arrest. Mr Pachobut declared dry hunger-strike right in the court hall.
The same day another activist of the Union of Poles of Belarus, Iuzaf Pazhetski, was sentenced to 7 days of jail with the same charges.
