Zhodzina: Four Persons Imprisoned for ‘Petty Hooliganism’
On 17 March in Zhodzina the local activists of youth democratic movement Ales Chyreika, Siarhei Hudzilin and Iauhen Vaukavets were sentenced to 7 days of jail. The leader of Zhodzina branch of the BPF Party Aliaksei Lapitski told RFE/RL they were taken to Zhodzina City Court right from a police station (they were detained on 15 March for distribution of the agitation materials of the candidate to the presidential position Aliaksandr Milinkevich and accused of petty hooliganism (article 156 of the Code of Administrative Violations).
In the evening of 17 March the police detained the youth activist Dzmitry Chartkou at home and took to a police station for ‘hooliganism’. Mr Chartkou took an active part in agitation for Aliaksandr Milinkevich.
